Laura Ludwig

Laura Ludwig ( born January 13, 1986 in Berlin ) is a German beach volleyball player. She had been twice European champion and five times German champion.

Career

Ludwig began in 1994 at the Köpenick SC with the Volleyball Hall. In the season 2004/ 05 she was with Bayer Leverkusen and its long-standing partner Sara Goller Beach in all three finals. In the years 2009 and 2010, she helped in the second division from a few games at VfL Oythe.

As a beach volleyball player Ludwig has been active since 1999. First she played with Jana Köhler. The duo was founded in 2003 World and European Champion in the U18 age group. Laura Ludwig was also awarded the "Most Improved Player of the Year" of the FIVB 2007. Goller / Ludwig defended their national title this year in the final against Helke Claasen and Antje Röder. Season 2009

The year 2009 was the year of the third places for Laura Ludwig and Sara Goller. Season 2010

Season 2011

At the Beach Volleyball European Championship 2011 in Kristiansand Goller / Ludwig won the bronze medal. Then Laura Ludwig was elected for the third time in a row beach volleyball player of the year. At the German Championships, she was able to win the national title for the fourth time with Sara Goller. Not quite as successful as last year, the two Germans were at the FIVB World Tour. Season 2012

The year of the Olympic Games in London Laura Ludwig and Sara Goller started with the fifth (Brasilia, Beijing) and ninth places (Shanghai, Moscow, Gstaad, Berlin, Klagenfurt) in the FIVB World Tour. In Rome they were stopped only in the finale of Kuhn / Zumkehr (SUI ). At the European Championships in Scheveningen (Netherlands) they finished ninth. Then they won the national tournament of the Smart Beach Tour on Norderney. At the Olympic Games in London, she reached the second place in the group stage and thus qualified for the knockout stages. There they met with Holt Wick / Semmler to the second German duo, who they defeated 2-0. Then they were subjected to the quarter-finals but the Brazilian team Larissa / Juliana with 0:2 and thus occupied the fifth place. Then Laura Ludwig was elected for the fourth time in a row beach volleyball player of the year. At the German Championships Goller / Ludwig resigned after two defeats from early and finished the tournament in seventh place. In September 2012, Goller resigned.

Season 2013

Laura Ludwig started off the 2013 season with their new partner Kira Walkenhorst for Hamburger SV. In the first tournament of the year, the CEV Satellite in Antalya ( Turkey) Ludwig / Walkenhorst reached the final, which they lost 0-2 against the Netherlands team van Gestel / Meppelink. On the Smart Beach Tour they reached third place in Norderney, Hamburg and Münster. In August Ludwig was elected for the fifth time in a row Germany's beach volleyball player of the year and was finally Walkenhorst German masters.
