Laure Manaudou ( born October 9, 1986 in Villeurbanne ) is a French swimmer. She was three times world champion and won an Olympic gold in 2004 per, silver and bronze medal. Her younger brother Florent Manaudou is also swimmers.

Career

At the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, she won the gold medal in the 400 m freestyle, the silver medal in the 800 m freestyle and bronze in the 100m backstroke. In the swimming world championships 2005 in Montreal she could confirm their achievements from the games in Athens in the 400 -meter freestyle final and was named after a botched forward, in which she was only 8 become World Champion.

In the European Swimming Championships in Budapest in 2006, she won the gold medal in the 400 and 800m freestyle and 100m backstroke and 200m individual medley. Manaudou is the daughter of former French handball player and trainer Jean -Luc Manaudou and the Dutch Badminton player Olga Schippers. She was romantically involved with the Italian swimmer Luca Marin, which is why they broke up in May 2007 by her coach and left France to live in Turin and to exercise. After they had been expelled in June 2007 from the Turin club La Presse, she returned to her home Ambérieu -en- Bugey. After the relationship to Marin in 2007 broke apart, the French fell into a sporty and mental hole. She has now been found in the float Frédérick Bousquet a new life partner. The two have a daughter.
