Laureate Plate of Madrid

The Placa Laureada de Madrid was the highest military decoration for bravery in the Second Republic during the Spanish Civil War.

It was launched on March 5, 1937 by decree and should replace the loaned by the nationalists Laureada Cruz de San Fernando. The decision on the award of the Placa Laureada was, for a formal investigation, taken by the Cortes or the Council of Ministers. In the short time of its existence, only eight people were honored with her, among them the following four: Vicente Rojo Lluch, Luis González de Ubieta, José Miaja Menant and Leocadio Mendiola.
