Lauren MacMullan

Lauren MacMullan is an American animator, television and film director.

Life

MacMullan studied at Harvard University, where she also finished animation courses. She initially worked as a director for commercials since 1991 and worked at the Olive Jar Studios. Among other things, she created films for MTV. In 1993, she moved to Los Angeles, where she worked as a director of the animated series The Critic. Between 1994 and 1995, four episodes created under her direction. Other directing credits for series followed, as well as for The Nanny King of the Hill and Mission Hill. MacMullan was from 2001 also director of episodes of the popular animated series The Simpsons. For her work as a director for Avatar - The Last Airbender she was honored in 2006 with an Annie Award and was nominated for an Emmy in 2007.

In 2009, MacMullan employee at Pixar, where she worked on the animated film Newt, whose development was set in 2010. She went the following year to the Walt Disney Animation Studio, where he was involved as a storyboard artist on the movie Ralph 's enough. In the short animated film Get a Horse! led her first film directed and was also the first director of a Mickey Mouse film. MacMullan was for Get a Horse! together with producer Dorothy McKim 2014 for an Oscar nomination in the category Best Animated Short Film.
