Laurence Graff

Laurence Graff ( born 1938 in London ) is a British entrepreneur and jeweler.

Life

Graff was born in London, the son of a Jewish family. In 1960 he founded the jeweler Graff Diamonds company. At 24, he opened in 1962 in Hatton Garden, the historic city district for gem trade in London, his first two jewelry stores. Among his most important customers is Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei. Over the years, he acted with such important jewelry pieces such as the Idol's -Eye Diamond, the Emperor Maximillian- diamonds, the Porter Rhodes Diamond, the Windsor Diamond, the Hope - of-Africa - Diamonds, the Begum Blue diamond, the Paragon diamonds, the star -of- America - diamonds, the Golden Star diamonds or the Lesotho Promise diamond. According to the American Forbes Magazine Graff is one of the richest Britons. In 2008 he acquired the Blue Wittelsbach diamond. He cut the historic diamond, which provoked international criticism. Graff is married since 1962 and has three children.
