Laurens County (South Carolina)

Laurens County is a county located in the state of South Carolina in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Laurens.

Geography

The County is located in the central northwestern South Carolina and has an area of ​​1875 square kilometers, of which 23 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Spartanburg County, Union County, Newberry County, Greenwood County, Abbeville County, Anderson County and Greenville County.

History

Laurens County was formed in 1785. It was named after Henry Laurens, the third President of the Continental Congress.
