Laurent Gras (ice hockey)

Laurent Gras ( born March 15, 1976 in Chamonix ) is a French ice hockey player who is under contract with the Chamonix Hockey Club in Ligue Magnus since 2009.

Career

Laurent Gras began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior department of the Huskies de Chamonix, for their first team he was in the Ligue Magnus, the highest French League, active from 1994 to 1996. Subsequently, the Center played a season long for the Gothiques d' Amiens, where he became the leading player. In his years in Amiens also he received the Trophée Jean -Pierre Graff best young players in the league. Then he played another two years for his hometown club Huskies de Chamonix, before he again ran aground 1999-2008 for Gothiques d' Amiens. In the season 2002/ 03 the longtime national team received the Trophée Albert Hassler as the best French player of the Ligue Magnus. In the 2003 /04 season he won with Amiens for the first and only time the French title.

For the 2008/09 season grass moved within the Ligue Magnus to the Pingouins de Morzine -Avoriaz. Since 2009 he is back for his hometown club of Chamonix on the ice, which now plays as Chamois de Chamonix.

Internationally

For France, the grass took at junior level at the U18 Junior B Championship in 1994 and the U20 Junior B World Championships in 1995 and 1996 in part.

In the senior level, he stood in the squad of his country at the B World Championships in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006 and 2007, and at the A World Championships in 1997, 1998, 2004, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011. Moreover, he represented France at the 1998 Olympic Winter Games in Nagano and 2002 Salt Lake City.
