Laurent Mosar

Laurent Mosar ( born February 8, 1958 in Luxembourg ) is a Luxembourgian politician of the Christian Social Party (CSV ). Between 2009 and 2013 he was president of the Chambre des Députés.

Life

Mosar, a son of the politician Nicolas Mosar, who was not only a deputy, but also Commissioner for Energy, European Commission and Ambassador studied post-school law and then worked as a lawyer.

In June 1979 he was a member of the CSV. On 18 July 1994 Mosar was first elected to the Chambre des Députés and since this is one of the CSV. During his long parliamentary membership he was from August 1999 to June 2004 President of the Committees for media and communication, law and most recently from August 2004 to June 2009 President of the Committee on Finance and Budget.

In addition to his parliamentary career, he was from 1997 to 2000 a member of the City Council of Luxembourg, is this after a recent work as Assistant Secretary ( Schäffen ) Luxembourg City again since November 2005.

Having to June 2009 already was Vice President from August 2004, he was on 28 July 2009 to end of 2013, President of the Chambre des Députés and thus Parliament President.
