Lauri Asikainen
Lauri Asikainen ( born May 28, 1989 in Savonlinna, Finland) is a Finnish ski jumper and former nordic combined.
Career
Asikainen launched for the first time on 12 March 2005 in B- World Cup Nordic combined, but could not achieve notable success. At the Junior World Cup 2007 in Tarvisio, Italy, he sat down next to the competitions in the Nordic combined and ski jumping in Planica on discharged competition as Springer for the Finnish team and took part at the end on the normal hill 3rd place. In the competitions of the Nordic Combined he was in competition by the Gundersen method 29 or 17 in the sprint and finished with the Finnish team the 6th Place. Participation in the ski jumping competition was the only one that he played with the Finnish team.
29 November 2008 Asikainen earned his first World Cup in Kuusamo A and ended it on 43rd place he reached in the combination usually only top 40 rankings, which he mostly better in ski jumping portion and later lost in the cross-country courses.
At the Junior World Championship 2009, he was able to win the 26th Place and in the second race ( HS100/10km ) 23rd in the first race ( HS100/5km ). With the team he came on the 10th Place. In the same year he was also employed at the Nordic World Ski Championships. Here he achieved a 47th place in the mass start ( HS134/10km ) and a 33rd place in the Gundersen competition with jump of the HS100 and an eighth place in the team competition with a jump of the HS134, together with Jaakko Tallus, Jim Härtull and Janne Ryynänen.
In summer 2010, Asikainen launched for the first time at Continental Cup competitions of ski jumpers, after he had given in the spring of the same year in his Facebook profile the change known. However, He only came in Wisła as 27 in the second passage. In winter Asikainen launched exclusively in the Continental Cup, but never reached the second round. In the Estonian Championships in Ski Jumping 2011, he was allowed to attend as a guest and took third place. In the summer competitions on 22 September 2012 in Klingenthal he could achieve his first podium finish in the Continental Cup of ski jumpers second behind Wolfgang Loitzl. On 25 November 2012, he made his debut in Lillehammer, Norway in the Ski Jumping World Cup, but resigned as the 39th in the first passage out. The following weekend he could reach his first World Cup points in eight domestic Kuusamo than 23 then.
Asikainen held from 2007 to 2010 the hill record of 100 m on the Paradis Kullen ( K90 ) in Örnsköldsvik, Sweden.
