Lautenbach (Ablach)

The Lautenbach is a 1.5 km long orographic right tributary of the Ablach and, through this, a tributary of the Danube.

It rises 631 meters above sea level on two sources. NN in the Hohenzollern Forstwald on the boundary Ringgenbach, City Meßkirch. The main source used to be taken in three basins, which were connected by overflows. The secondary source is not much more than a ditch. Both spring water, attached Pfohsand, unite after a few meters and flow as the actual Lautenbach north. West of Goeggingen, community Krauchenwies, it opens at 589 m above sea level. NN in the Ablach. Since the Ablach flows into the Danube, the Lautenbach thus belongs to the Danube river system.

During the whole course it forms the local boundary between the district Goeggingen, community Krauchenwies, and the district Ringgenbach, City Meßkirch.

The spring discharge was earlier higher order multiples, so that in Lautenbach, the trout was at home next to the white fish. However, this was far before the establishment of 31 December 1998 disused landfill site in the western catchment area of ​​Lautenbach source, and before 2002 extended large-scale gravel mining by the company Valet and Ott south of Goeggingen, east of the source. A catch of fish was even possible in the winter simply by damming the watercourse.
