Sources of law

The Constitution of the Republic of Poland ( Konstytucja Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej ) of 1997, the principle of the hierarchical structure of the system of sources of law is enshrined. This principle derives from Article 8 of the Constitution, which states: " The Constitution is the supreme law of the Republic of Poland ". Due to the constitutional provisions of Article 87, Article 91, Article 188 I-III, Article 234, the following hierarchy of sources of law can be derived:

  • The Constitution of the Republic of Poland ( Konstytucja Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej )
  • International treaties
  • That established by an international organization law
  • Laws and regulations with the force of law
  • Simple Ordinances
  • Acts of public law
