Law Publishers in Europe ( LPE ) is an initiative founded in 1983 by some of the most famous European law publishers. Today it has twelve members.

Activities

LPE informed practitioners, researchers, libraries, entrepreneurs and public and private institutions on relevant new publications in the legal sector and sells them quickly and on favorable terms.

From 2009-2011, LPE awarded jointly with the Austrian Manz in commemoration of the publisher Franz Stein (1944-2005) the " Franz Stein Memorial Award". The with € 6.000, - prize awarded every two years aimed at European Law Students. Award-winning was a English to verfassender original scientific essay (8,000 words including footnotes). An independent jury selected among the submissions from the best essay. The winning essay was published in a journal from the spectrum of LPE publishers.

2009 was the subject of " How Should the EU Ensure the Human Rights Conformity of Targeted Sanctions its Member States have to Implement Pursuant to UN Security Council Resolutions? ". The price of shared Katherine Lim (UK ) and Gerhard Holley (A).

The theme for 2011 was "The New Common Commercial Policy: Who has the power to Conclude investment protection treaties post -Lisbon - The EU and / or its member states". The award went to Viktoriya Petrikova (BG).
