Grass called anthropogenic vegetation cover of grasses, which is connected by roots and offshoots with the vegetation layer, is located in the settlement area of the people and is not used for agriculture. Lawn can be found in gardens, parks or sports grounds, for example, in stadiums or on golf courses ( " greens "). It is usually cut short.
Features of the lawn is the regular mowing of grasses growing to a height of a few to about ten centimeters, in some cases, but only four to five millimeters ( putting green of the golf courses ) during the growing season. Grasslands that are rarely mowed and their growth therefore achieves higher plant height, is called meadows.
