Lawrence Donald Soens

Donald Lawrence Soens ( born August 26, 1926 in Iowa City ) is retired bishop of Sioux City.

Life

Donald Lawrence Soens received on 6 May 1950, the ordained priest for the Diocese of Davenport.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on 15 June 1983, Bishop of Sioux City. The Archbishop of Dubuque, James Joseph Byrne, gave him on 17 August of the same year the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were Gerald Francis O'Keefe, Bishop of Davenport, and Frank Henry Greteman, Bishop Emeritus of Sioux City.

From his office he resigned on 28 November 1998.
