Lawrence Frank

Lawrence Frank ( born August 23, 1970 in New York City ) is an American basketball coach. On January 26, 2004, he joined the successor of Byron Scott as head coach of the New Jersey Nets and was at that time the youngest coach of the U.S. professional league NBA.

The passionate, but only moderately talented basketball player Frank was offered after his high school days no athletic scholarship to a university. So he opted for the adoption of a team manager Scholarship Indiana University. There, Frank learned for four years (1988-1992) under coach Bobby Knight the intricacies of the basketball game. Then Frank got an assistant coaching job at Marquette University, where he learned from coach Kevin O'Neill. As O'Neill moved to the University of Tennessee, Frank followed him.

When the Vancouver Grizzlies in the NBA Frank got a job as a scout under coach Brian Hill. Three years later, he applied successfully in 2000 for an assistant coach job with the New Jersey Nets. In 2004, he took over for the dismissed Byron Scott began his coaching career with 13 wins in a row - a record for a professional coach in the four major U.S. sports, basketball, ice hockey, American football and baseball.

For the season 2010/2011, Frank was hired by the Boston Celtics. There he is to look after as an assistant coach for the defense of the Celtics. From August 2011 to April 2013 Lawrence Frank was coach of the Detroit Pistons.

Frank lives with his wife Susan in Englewood, New Jersey.
