Lawrence J. Smith

Lawrence Jack Smith ( born April 25, 1941 in New York City ) is an American politician. Between 1983 and 1993 he represented the state of Florida in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Lawrence Smith attended the public schools in East Meadow, New York. Between 1958 and 1961 he studied at New York University. After a subsequent law degree from Brooklyn Law School and his made ​​in 1964 admitted to the bar he began in New York City to work in his new profession. Since 1972 he worked as a lawyer in Florida.

Smith joined the Democratic Party. From 1974 to 1978 he was Chairman of the Planning Committee of the City of Hollywood. Between 1978 and 1982 he sat as an MP in the House of Representatives from Florida. Smith was in the years 1980 to 2004 a delegate to the Democratic National Conventions seven.
