Lawrence Turman

Lawrence Turman ( born November 28, 1926 in Los Angeles, California) is an American film and television producer.

Life

Turman graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles study of the liberal arts. After two years of service in the United States Navy, he worked for several years in the company of his father.

In 1961, Turman produced in collaboration with Stuart Millar his first feature film, chief physician Dr. Pearson. Until the 2000s, followed by more than 40 other film and television productions. In 1996 he founded with John Morrissey, the production company The Turman - Morrissey Company. He subsequently produced films like Booty Call - One -night stand with obstacles (1997 ) and American History X (1998), where Turman was involved as executive producer.

Since 1991, Turman leads the Peter Stark Producing Program at the USC School of Cinematic Arts at the University of Southern California. He is married and the father of several children. In 2005 he published the book So You Want To Be a Producer.
