Layer 2 Forwarding Protocol

Layer 2 Forwarding ( L2F ) is a network protocol (similar to PPTP) that supports multiple protocols and multiple independent tunnels. The user identification is weaker than that of PPTP and L2F does not encrypt the data.

Layer 2 Forwarding was about the same as PPTP developed jointly by the company Cisco Systems, Northern Telecom, and Shiva. Meanwhile L2F has lost favor of L2TP and PPTP important.
