Lazar Zalkind

Lasar Borisovich Salkind (Russian Лазарь Борисович Залкинд ) ( born January 2, 1886 in Kharkov, † June 25, 1945 in Komsomolsk -on-Amur ) was a Soviet chess composer.

Chess Composer

Salkind was from 1913 to 1916 editor of the Problem column in Schachmatny Vestnik and 1922-1929 in Schachmaty. In addition, he was chairman of the Commission for problems and studies in the All-Russian Chess Federation. He created more than 500 chess compositions, of which sixty were awarded in national and international tournaments.
