LDE – Borsdorf to Zittau

The BORSDORF to ZITTAU were Tender locomotives of the Leipzig- Dresden Railway Company for mixed service.

History

The Leipzig- Dresden railway had 1866-1868 procured in three series a total of 20 locomotives from the Maschinenfabrik Esslingen ( Emil Kessler ). They had a Vierseitkuppelstehkessel, an internal control of the design and Kirchweger Stephenson - Steam exhaust.

In the LDE the locomotives only names, company numbers or a generic name wore did not exist. With the takeover by the Royal Saxon State Railways from 1876 they retained their names if they had already been assigned elsewhere. In addition, they received the car numbers 584-603 and were led as a generic K III. 1885 changed to the generic name in K II and awarded in 1892 the new road numbers 676 to 695 From 1896 was the generic name only II From 1900 the car numbers were increased to 2000 and the nameplates accounted for; because the older machines but no longer completely were in operation, the numbering was not continuously here.

Until 1913 the locomotives were retired.
