LDE – Moldau to Mulde

The MOLDOVA up MULDE were Tender locomotives of the Leipzig- Dresden Railway Company for mixed service.

History

Already in the years 1866 and 1868, the Leipzig- Dresden railway locomotives of the type 1B n2 by Maschinenfabrik Esslingen had procured. The nine locomotives from 1874/75 differed mainly by the modern Crampton boiler and the inner Allan control from the older series.

In the LDE the locomotives only names, company numbers or a generic name wore did not exist. With the takeover by the Royal Saxon State Railways from 1876 got the most new names to avoid duplication. In addition, they received the car numbers 604-612 and were led as a generic K III.

1885 changed to the generic name in K II and awarded in 1892 the new road numbers 696 to 704 From 1896 was the generic name only II From 1900 the car numbers were increased to 2000 and the nameplates accounted for.

In 1904 the first locomotives were retired. Some came in 1920 nor in the stock of the newly founded German Reichsbahn. In preliminary renumbering the new operating numbers were provided 98 7301 and 7302 for two locomotives still, but was redrawn no more.

1923 difference with the former MOLDOVA from the last locomotive from the plant ingredients.
