Le Bois-Plage-en-Ré
Le Bois -Plage -en- Ré is a municipality with 2356 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011), on the Ile de Ré on the French Atlantic coast, which bears his name since 1927 and a merger of the three former independent village Bois, Le Morinand and Rouland is. The earlier name Le Bois is now also still very common. It is a small town without its own port on the south coast of the Ile de Ré, opposite the coast of the island of Ile d' Oleron. Le Bois -Plage -en- Ré is one of the larger resorts on the island and has several kilometers of very fine sand beach with large sand dunes.

The beaches of the municipality Le Bois -Plage -en- Ré extend over five to six kilometers. From north to south they are designated successively as:

Economy
Like most places on the island and this lives mainly on
- Oyster farming, which however is operated solely on the northern coast.
- Fishing
- Tourism. There are a large number of hotels and: campsites.
- Marine tourism and water sports.
- Agriculture
- In Le Bois -Plage -en- Ré also Coopérative has vinicole, the winegrowers of the island their headquarters
- Le Bois -Plage -en- Ré has a large, held daily market with the largest market hall on the island.
Personalities
- René Théodore Phelippot was 22 years council and mayor. He was the founder and collector of a museum in his home. After his death, the exhibits of Enest Cognacq were bought in order to justify the fundus of the Museum Ernest Cognacq in Saint -Martin -de- Ré.
