Le Maosheng

Le Maosheng ( born August 9, 1978 in Ningyuan, China) is a Chinese weightlifter.

Sporting career

Immediately on his debut at the 1997 World Championships in Chiang Mai Le Maosheng won silver in the duel and jerk and bronze in the snatch in the class to 59 kg. Only 400 g more body weight than Stefan Georgiev parted Le of two gold and one silver medal.

After the conversion of the weight classes he decided not to stand in the bantamweight that was now 3 kg under its current limit, but the featherweight 62 kg up to change. The Junior World Championships could win Le Maosheng sovereign, at the World Championships in Lahti of the assets he had, however, satisfied with the 5th Place.

But a year later won the 1999 Le two gold medals and set a world record in pushing with 180.5 kg on.

In his first Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000, he finished an unlucky fourth place. 2002 and 2003 reached Le Maosheng at the World Championships 2nd or 3rd place. In Warsaw, he also won his only world championship gold medal in the snatch.

His last international match played Le with the 2004 Olympics, where he held the silver medal behind his compatriot Shi Zhiyong and by far won the third place despite only two valid attempt.
