Le Pecq

Le Pecq (also Pecq -sur -Seine ) is a French municipality with 16,675 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011 ) in the Yvelines department in the Île- de -France region.

Geography

Le Pecq is located about 20 kilometers west of Paris. Direct neighboring towns are Saint -Germain -en- Laye and Le Vésinet.

History

Le Pecq was first established in 704 in a document of the Frankish king Childebert III. mentioned. However, larger gained fame Pecq until the year 1837 when the first railway line was inaugurated in France between Paris and Le Pecq of Queen Maria Amalia of Naples and Sicily. Since then, many visited Paris Le Pecq to get away from the noisy metropolis.

German sister city of Le Pecq is Hennef in North Rhine -Westphalia. Other partnerships maintains Pecq with the Spanish city of Aranjuez and the Barnes Community Association in south west London.
