Le Petit Parisien

Le Petit Parisien ( the little Paris ) was the most popular journal of the Third Republic.

On October 15, 1876, the newspaper was first published. 20 years it was only just the tough competition in the media landscape. In October 1901 decided to Eugène Petit Parisien Letellier with six instead of four sides bring out to catch its competitors in Le Matin. Despite the efforts the journal was not a leader.

On 10 June 1940 the newspaper moved its headquarters to Bordeaux and went on October 8 back into occupied by the Wehrmacht in Paris. On 10 February 1941, the German Militärgouvernement shaped the newspaper to the propaganda instrument. 1944, the newspaper was set for collaborating with the enemy. After the liberation of France, the newspaper was published on January 6, 1945 again for a few months in Konstanz, still under the direction of Claude Jeantet.
