Léa Garcia

Léa Garcia ( born March 11, 1933, Rio de Janeiro) is a Brazilian actress.

Garcia is mainly as an actress in television series and telenovelas known, but she also starred in movies and television films. She played her first role in 1959 as Seraphina in the feature film Orfeu Negro, who won the Oscar among others. In 1960, she played the Herminia in Brazilian Rhapsody. More films followed, where very often the slavery was processed as an issue. Internationally known, however, Garcia was the telenovela The Slave Isaura, in which she played the scheming slave Rosa, who poisoned herself accidentally even at the end. Other important films were The Black Goddess of Ola Balogun (1978) and A Cuban Affair - Viva Sapata! (2002).
