Léa Seydoux

Léa Seydoux (born 1 July 1985 in Paris ) is a French film actress.

Short Biography

Seydoux is the granddaughter of Jérôme Seydoux, former president of the film production company Pathé, and grandniece of Nicolas Seydoux, CEO of the film production company Gaumont. Another great uncle is Michel Seydoux, president of the French football club Lille OSC. She is the daughter of the businessman Henri Seydoux and his then-wife Valérie Schlumberger. Both parents come from upper middle-class, Protestant families.

2006 Seydoux began with acting. For her role in Christophe Honoré's film The beautiful girl, she was nominated for the César 2009. Another nomination for a César Award she received in 2011 for the female lead role in Rebecca Zlotowskis Drama Belle Epine. Benoît Jacquot's historical drama in Farewell, My Queen! , Was opened with the 2012 Berlinale Competition, she played a more leading role.

Furthermore Seydoux played from 2009 supporting roles in international productions, such as Quentin Tarantino's war drama Inglourious Basterds, Ridley Scott's remake of Robin Hood and Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris.

2013 Seydoux was at the film festival in Cannes along with her co-star Adèle Exarchopoulos is for her acting performance in Abdellatif Kechiche drama Blue a warm color with a Golden Palm Award. For the first time the jury awarded this prize not only to the director of the film, but also to both leading ladies.
