Lead (II ) titanate is a toxic chemical compound consisting of the elements lead, titanium and oxygen with the chemical formula PbTiO3. It counts as a lead salt of titanic acid ( HxTiyOz ) to the titanates. Lead (II) titanate, a yellow, water-insoluble powder.
At higher temperatures lead titanate assumes a cubic perovskite structure. Upon reaching the Curie temperature of 447 ° C the material is ferroelectric, and assumes a tetragonal structure. Lead titanate is one of the end members in the phase diagram of lead zirconate titanate, a ferroelectric ceramic, in which case the zirconium and the titanium content is zero at a maximum.
