Leaders of Tswanaland

The leader of the Traditional Tswana were leaders of the Homeland Tswanaland (now Namibia) and since Namibia's independence, the representative of the small ethnic minority of Tswana.

Legal basis

According to the Constitution of Namibia from 1990 to the traditional leaders, tribal and clan chiefs, as well as traditionally determined or democratically elected leaders, given a fixed place in the political system of Namibia. Thus, the multicultural and multifaceted society of the country is taken into account.

The Constitution provides for the title of Chief ( to German boss) and Senior Headman ( elder leaders ) for the traditional leaders. The traditional title can be worn as an addition.
