Lead phosphate is a chemical compound selected from the group of phosphates.
Occurrence
In cases of poisoning with lead or its compounds this is deposited in the form of lead phosphate in the bone. Lead shows if released into nature a pronounced tendency to accumulation in the soil, so it is to be found there at the appropriate contamination as sparingly soluble lead phosphate.
Production and representation
Lead phosphate can be obtained by reacting lead acetate with sodium phosphate.
Safety
Lead phosphate is classified as carcinogenic category 2 and mutagen category 3A.
