League of European Research Universities
The League of European Research Universities ( LERU short, European League for German research universities ) is a group of leading research universities in Europe that have excellent teaching and internationally competitive edge research as a goal.
Founded in 2002 as a partnership between 12 of Europe's best universities, LERU counts since 2010 now 21 members. Membership is only possible through an official invitation by LERU. The League of European Research Universities has its headquarters in Leuven, Belgium.
