League of West German Communists

The covenant West German Communists (Brief description: BWK) from 1980 to 1995, a political party (one of the so-called K- groups ) in the Federal Republic of Germany.

History

The foundation of this Communist Party was in 1980 as a spin-off from the Communist League West Germany. A group of about 600 members of the Central Committee member of the KBW Martin Fochler performed the separation, taking with significant parts of the infrastructure. Other well-known Central Committee members were Jörg Detjen (Managing Director of the Central Committee from 1980 to 1995 ) and Christoph Cornides. The BWK referred to the fact alone still behind that of the KBW program are from 1973 and to continue the revolutionary tradition of the KBW.

Central organ was the Central Committee of the BWK in publishing GNN mbH ( Society for news gathering and news distribution, based in Cologne, later Schkeuditz near Leipzig) published the journal " Political Reports " which (from Vol 1, No. 1 of 13 October 1980) was published fortnightly. In the editorial initially recorded Wolfgang Müller, Christiane Schneider and Ulrich Grothus responsible. The BWK participated with only limited success in several elections. From 1981, BWK - members dedicated to the hitherto by the KPD / ML -influenced popular front. Negotiations with the United Socialist Party in the second half of the 1980s failed because of a union of the two organizations due to different assessments of the events in Central and Eastern Europe, the change in 1989 in the GDR and to feminism to both took BWK in contrast to VSP a negative or critical attitude. At the 15th Annual Delegates Conference on 4/5 March 1995 in Cologne BWK decided to dissolve itself as a political party. At the same time a political union was without party status "covenant West German Communists - National Conference " was founded. The members initially worked in a joint covenant West German communists in and around the PDS, and later Forum Communist associations with. The working group was disbanded in late 2007. Former BWKler since the beginning of 2008 in the ArGe Concrete democracy - Social liberation, an intra-party merger of the Left Party, organized.
