Leandro Somoza

Leandro Daniel Somoza ( born January 26, 1981 in Buenos Aires, Argentina) is an Argentine football player.

Playing career

Association

Leandro Somoza followed the example of many country people like Juan Román Riquelme and moved in 2006 to FC Villarreal, having previously played for five years with CA Velez Sarsfield. His greatest achievement was winning the Clausura 2005 with the Argentines.

After a year at Villarreal he was awarded for the 2007 /08 season at Betis Sevilla because he hardly had chances of getting a regular place because of the recovery of the Frenchman Robert Pires. Since you no longer also planned after the year with him, Somoza went to his hometown club CA Velez Sarsfield back to Argentina. There he was appointed team captain and won the 2009 Clausura with Velez again.

National

From coach Alfio Basile Leandro Somoza was called to the national team in 2006, for which he played twice against Brazil and Spain.
