Leatherheads (Original Title: Leatherheads ) is an American sports comedy from 2008 directed by George Clooney, who also played one of the lead roles.. The screenplay by Duncan Brantley and Rick Reilly.

Action

The action takes place in 1925. Jimmy Connelly is a captain of a football team. The sponsor of the team terminated the contract, whereupon Connelly brings the heroes of the First World War Carter Rutherford join the team. He hopes this would attract the attention of the media.

The sports journalist Lexie Littleton trying to find vulnerabilities in Rutherford's resume. Meanwhile, rival Connelly and Rutherford for their attention.

Emanuel Levy wrote on emanuellevy.com, the screenplay is patchy and not funny enough; the film also strongly WOULD frumpy ( "extremely old- fashioned "). Clooney's directing is not bad ( "not badly directed by Clooney ").

The German theatrical release was on June 5, 2008. Figure of Jimmy Connelly was the American football player John McNally modeled. The team of Connelly strongly reminiscent of the Duluth Eskimos.
