Łebieniec

Lebieniec ( German Labenz, Kashubian Łebińc ) is a village near the town of Leba in the Polish Pomeranian Voivodeship.

Geographical Location and Transport

Lebieniec located in Pomerania, about six miles southeast of downtown Leba on the Baltic Sea, 22 kilometers north- west of the city Lębork and five kilometers north of the church village Charbrowo. The distance to Sarsener lake in the north is about four kilometers. About six kilometers south of the village runs the voivodship road Slupsk - Krokowa.

History

In 1564 bought the Lauenburg Governor Ernst von Weiher, the older brother of Camminer Bishop Martin of ponds, villages Charbrow, Labenz and Ossecken that had previously belonged to the monastery Zuckau from which Leslauer Bishop Jakub Uchański for 12,000 dollars. Around 1784, there were six full Labenz farmers, half peasant, a schoolhouse and a total of ten households. Owner of the village, which was a purely farming village was, at this time, Carl Heinrich von Somnitz, which included loud vassals table from 1804 also the goods Charbrow, bacon, Freist and Schönehr. 1822 Before Labenz had 94 inhabitants.

In 1925 were in Labenz 66 residential buildings, and there were counted 398 inhabitants, which were distributed to 95 households.

Before 1945 Labenz belonged to the district of Lauenburg i Pom. , Administrative region of Pomerania, Pomerania. The municipal area was 4.7 km ². In the community Labenz there were a total of four Locations:

  • Pollackenberg
  • Scotland

Towards the end of World War II Labenz early March 1945, occupied by the Soviet army. After the war, the village was put together with all Pomerania under Polish administration. Labenz was renamed Lebieniec.

In 1975 to 1998, the town belonged to the Province of Slupsk.

The village is affiliated in powiat Leborski the Pomeranian Voivodeship today the rural community Wicko. On 31 December 2010 Lebieniec had 295 inhabitants.

Church

The villagers before 1945 in Labenz present were far more predominantly Protestant denomination. In 1925 there were in the village a Catholic and a Jew. The Protestants of Labenz belonged to the parish Degendorf.
