Lech Gardocki

Lech Gardocki (* April 13, 1944 in Rydzew ) is a Polish legal scholar and from 1998 to 2010 Chairman of the Supreme Polish Court ( Sąd Najwyższy Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej ).

Life

Lech Gardocki studied from 1961 to 1966 at the University of Warsaw jurisprudence. He completed his studies with a master's and then worked as an assistant at the Chair of Criminal Law. In 1969, he was the judge's examination, two years later Gardocki graduated with service crime in legislation socialist states. Subsequently, he served as Adjunct (about Lecturer / Assistant Professor ) at the University of Warsaw. In 1979 he completed his habilitation with a thesis on questions concerning liability for crimes abroad. 1979 to 1984 he was Deputy Director at the Institute of Criminal Law of the University of Warsaw. He was then head of the Department of Comparative Criminal Law. There he was appointed Extraordinary and 1992 to full professor in 1991. Gardocki in 1996 became head of the Department of Criminal Law. On July 4, 1996, he was appointed Judge of Criminal Law, on October 17, 1998 the first chairman of the Supreme Polish Court. In this role, he was confirmed in 1996 for a second term. In 2010, he was replaced by Stanislaw Dabrowski. In addition to this, he is also a member of the International Advisory Committee for the magazine for the entire criminal justice science.
