History

Leclanché was founded in 1909 in Yverdon- les- Bains. Through the integration of a spin - off from the Fraunhofer - Gesellschaft in 2006, the company has transformed itself from a traditional battery manufacturer to a developer and manufacturer of lithium -ion cells in Europe.

The company currently employs approximately 120 employees and is listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange ( LECN ). It has its headquarters in Yverdon -les- Bains ( Switzerland ) and has production facilities in Willstätt ( Germany ).

Production program

Leclanche specializes in the production of lithium -ion cells, which find application in particular in the field of renewable energies. Another focus is on the development of mobile energy storage. Mid-2012 Leclanche began producing large-format lithium - titanate cells.
