Ledigos

Ledigos is a place on the Camino de Santiago in the province of Palencia of the Autonomous Community of Castile -Leon.

History

Its history is marked by the position of the Camino. The parish church is dedicated to the Apostle James, in her there is to be the only church on the way representations of the apostle as apostles, pilgrims and Moors killer. Furthermore, there was the Pilgrims Hospice Saint Lazarus, today is reminiscent of the one stone on the road to Población de Arroyo. It was destroyed in 1752 and used as a quarry for the hermitage of Nuestra Señora de Vallejera.

Attractions

  • Jacob's Church (Iglesia de Santiago Mayor ), 17th century nave, altarpieces from the 17th and 18th centuries. The representation of the Crucified was attributed by Dr. Parrado del Olmo the artist Juan Sáez de Torrecilla.
