Lee County (North Carolina)

Lee County is a county located in the state of North Carolina of the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Sanford, named after railroad engineer CO Sanford.

Geography

The County is located east of the geographic center of North Carolina and has an area of 672 square kilometers, of which 5 square kilometers is water area. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Chatham County, Harnett County and Moore County.

Lee County is divided into seven numbered townships: 1 ( Greenwood ), 2 ( Jonesboro ), 3 ( Cape Fear ), 4 ( Deep River ), 5 (East Sanford ), 6 ( West Sanford ) and 7 ( Pocket).
