Lee County (South Carolina)

Lee County is a county located in the state of South Carolina in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Bishopville.

Geography

The County is located north-east of the geographic center of South Carolina and has an area of 1065 square kilometers, of which 3 square miles is water area. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Darlington County, Florence County, Sumter County and Kershaw County.

History

Lee County was formed in 1902. It was named the commanding general of the Confederate in the American Civil War by Robert Edward Lee.
