Lee Raymond

Lee R. Raymond ( born August 13, 1939 in Watertown, South Dakota) is an American business manager. He was 1999-2005 Chairman ( CEO) of ExxonMobil Corporation.

Career

Raymond studied at the University of Wisconsin -Madison and the University of Minnesota chemical engineering. After his studies he joined in 1963 as an engineer in the research department of Exxon Corp.. one. In 1983 he became president of the subsidiary Esso, Finally, in 1993 Chief Executive Officer of the Group as a whole. During his tenure merged on 30 November 1999, the Exxon Corporation, Mobil. From this merger, the descended of market capitalization measured largest industrial companies in the world. 2005 Raymond moved for a severance payment of $ 351 million by the Management Board to the Supervisory Board. He was succeeded by Rex Tillerson.

2006 Raymond was commissioned by U.S. President George W. Bush in order to lead a commission on the future of renewable energy in the United States.
