Lee shore

Lee shore is used as a term from the shipping industry in particular when sailing. The leeward coast is on the leeward side of a ship. As the wind from the other side comes, he drives the ship towards the coast. This risk is called the sailor "on lee shore advised ". It's a constant tacking of the ship against the wind necessary to prevent the ship runs aground off the coast.
