Leesburg is a dependent place in Camp County, Texas. It lies west of the country seat Pittsburg. It has its own zip code, the 75451, and is located 121 meters above the sea level.

Named the place was named after the family of John Lee, who had already settled early on in the area. In the 1870s, the place was a station on the route of the East Line and Red River Railroad is a train station and connection to the railway network. With two other places, Leesburg applied in 1874 to the seat of the Country administration, but was only second after the winner Pittsburg. In the same year a post office was established in the place whose line James G. Credille, the treasurer of the county took over. 1884, the municipality had a mill, three stores and about fifty inhabitants, whose number grew to 150 by 1890 and 1896 already amounted to 300. We also had two churches and two schools and business life was noticeably better. The spelling as Leesburg sat until about 1900 generally through. The population lasted until around 1930 at about 300, and then decreased from 1943 to 120. 1955, the schools the Pittsburg Independent School District were connected. By 1968 the population had dropped to 75, but rose again to 115.

The village lies on the Louisiana and Arkansas Railway and on State Highway 11

A well-known personality from Leesburg was Carroll Shelby ( born January 11, 1923 in Leesburg, † 10 May, 2012 Dallas ), a race car driver and designer of sports cars.
