Legal drinking age

The Alkoholersterwerbsalter denotes the minimum age that a person must have in order to commercially acquire or consume alcoholic beverages. In some countries this between beverages with a lower alcohol content - distinguished and higher proof spirits - such as beer, sparkling wine and wine. In Germany the minimum age is 16 for beer and (sparkling ) wine and spirits for 18 years.

  • The sale of liqueur chocolates and other foods that contain alcohol is prohibited to persons under 16 years old. (Licensing Act 2003; 2003 c 17 Part 7 - Children and alcohol, . Section 148)
  • Private forbidden to consume any alcohol, children under 5 years; Unless there is a medical emergency. ( Children Act 1908)
