Legendre is an impact crater in the east of the Moon front, southeast of Mare Fecunditatis, west of the crater Humboldt and southeast of Petavius ​​. The approximately oval-shaped crater is eroded, the interior largely flat.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the French mathematician Adrien -Marie Legendre.
