The Baumschnegel ( Lehmannia marginata ) is a native in Europe Nacktschneckenart from the family of slug ( Limacidae ).
Description
The Baumschnegel reaches a body length of up to 75 mm. The basic color is light gray - brown, with bright keel strip and two lateral dark bands. The mantle shield is darker in the middle and has a side tie. The tail end is clearly keeled. The mucus of the Baumschnegels is colorless.
Occurrence, habitat and food
The Baumschnegel is native to North, Central and Western Europe. He lives mainly in forests, especially under the bark of dead trees. The Baumschnegel lives of algae, lichens and fungi, which he finds on the bark of trees. When it rains, he creeps up into the treetops of the book, there to graze on algae growth.
