Leica Geosystems

Leica Geosystems AG is one of the world's leading manufacturer of precision measuring instruments for the construction surveying, geodesy, aerial photography and photogrammetry. The company has its headquarters in Heerbrugg in the canton of St. Gallen (Eastern Switzerland, near the border with Austria ) and is the technical successor of the company founded in 1921 Wild Heerbrugg, which in 1987 /88 Leitz Wetzlar and the geodesic division of Kern & Co. AG Wild Leitz AG merged.

From 1990, the Group changed its name with other technical production lines under the global brand name of the camera manufacturer Leica, but was separated again from 1996 to 1998 smaller units.

Since 2005, Leica Geosystems is part of the Hexagon Group, Sweden, distributes its products but still under its own name.
