Leifsbudir

Leifsbudir (or Leifsbudir ) is, according to the Greenland Saga of the name of the settlement, probably founded Leif Eriksson in 1000 or 1001 in Vinland. It would therefore be the first European settlement in North America.

Later to be in the same place under Thorfinn Karlsefnis guide 160 Grænlendingar - including 16 women - have settled. The Normans lived in harmony with the native " Skraelingern ". Later, however, it came to conflict and the settlers had to abandon Leifsbudir and return to Greenland.

Maybe Leifsbudir corresponds to today's L' Anse aux Meadows, Newfoundland, which would enforce the same with the - promontory Winlandiae - on the Skálholt card.
