Leipzig Book Fair Prize
The Prize of the Leipzig Book Fair is a literary prize has been awarded since 2005 as part of the Leipzig Book Fair by Leipziger Messe, with the support of the city of Leipzig and the Free State of Saxony and in collaboration with the Literary Colloquium Berlin.
The March 17, 2005, the first award given is the successor price of the German Book Prize, which was awarded at the same place with the Association of German Book Trade 2002-2004. The award will be given for new releases in the three categories of " Fiction ", " non-fiction and essay writing " and "translation " and is endowed with 15,000 euros in each division.
The price should not, like the former German Book Prize, already successful books honor, but lift out new releases. The ceremony will take place in the glass hall of the Leipzig Exhibition Centre on the first day of the fair. The jury consists of seven literary critics and professionals.
