Leirvík ÍF

LIF Leirvík, full name Leirvíkar Ítróttafelag ( " sports club of Leirvík " ), abbreviated as LIF, was a Faroese football club based in Leirvík on the island Eysturoy. In November 2007, the team went on in the merger with GÍ Gøta in Víkingur Gøta.

History

LIF was established on 1 December 1928. They played from 1982-89 and again in 1993 in the first Deild (now Effodeildin ). By 1986, the club in the cup final, subject, however, there NSÍ Runavík with 1:3.

Women's Soccer

The women's team of LIF was one of the founding members of the first Deild, but rose in the premiere season as the penultimate of their group from. From 1996 to 1998 the team returned again and was able to place each in mid-table. 1999 LIF withdrew from the first division, then in 2007 came the merger with GÍ Gøta to Víkingur Gøta that henceforth played in the first division.
